The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) arrived into reality in the year of 1969 with a humble origin, having three units, to give integrated security cover to the PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) which, in the years, attended the “commanding hills” of the market. In 4 decades, the Force has increased numerous folds to give 1 lakh 41 thousand 7 hundred and thirty-five personnel today.

With globalization and the liberalization of the administration, the Central Industrial Security Force is no longer a Public Sector Undertaking centric industry. Instead, it has grown a premier multi-skilled protection agency of the nation, mandated to give protection to major critical support bases of the nation in diverse fields. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is currently giving safety cover to nuclear powers, sensitive Government buildings airports, space establishments, power plants, seaports, and ever heritage buildings. Among the important duties recently entrusted to the CISF are the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation), Disaster Management, VIP Security, and enterprise of an FPU (Formed Police Unit) of the UN at Haiti.

It is a statement to the level of expert competence and being taken by the Force over the decades that its services are staying asked for consultancy by the private division also. Over the times, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has given Consultancy Services to more than 138+ separate businesses, including those in the individual sector.
