The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is a multi-mission system, managing round-the-year real-life services at sea. Despite remaining almost small, it has a broad variety of task abilities for both air and surface operations.
The company is directed by the Director-General Indian Coast Guard using his overall control and management from the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters established in New Delhi. This is supported by 4 Deputy Director Generals of the position of Inspector General, and different senior officers managing multiple staff members.
For active control and command, the Maritime departments of India are classified into 5 Coast Guard Sectors, namely, West, East, North-West, Andaman & Nicobar, and North-East, with the individual Regional Headquarters established at Chennai, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Port Blair, and Mumbai. The Coast Guard Quarters are conducted by Directors of the level of Inspector General.
