The Karnataka State Police (KSP) Department is the law enforcing office for the Karnataka state (India). This department is managed by the Director-General of Police.
The district police officers are headed by an SP (Superintendent of Police). A combination of districts includes a range, led by an Inspector of the General Police. Police headquarters in Bengaluru is headed by a commissioner of policemen with the rank of Additional DGP. Mangaluru Mysuru and Hubballi-Dharwad town are headed by an IGP (Inspector General of Police) while Belagavi is headed by a DIG (Deputy Inspector General of Police).
The DG&IGP (Inspector-General & Director-General of Police) is the head of the state’s police force, and under him are New Directors Generals of Police. Each New Director General of Police is in command of a particular function: law & order, technical & crime services, intelligence, administration, the Karnataka State recruitment, Reserve Police, and training.
