NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) developed into reality on 12th/July/1982 by giving the agricultural credit functions/activities of reserve bank of India and refinance uses of the then Agricultural Development and Refinance Corporation (ARDC). It was assigned to the help of the country by the Indira Gandhi on 5th Nov 1982. Set up with an original capital of Rs.100 cr, its’ paid-up capital was at Rs.10,580 cr on 31st Mar 2018. Following the change in the structure of share resources between the Indian Govt and Reserve Bank (RBI), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development today is wholly owned by the Indian Government.
