The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) was introduced by Govt. of Odisha as a legal body in the year 1994 for bringing out direct recruitment against Group-C posts in the State cadre (as against District cadre) as may be listed in the OSSC Rules, 1993. There are amazing 85 different cadres of jobs/ duties following several responsibilities of the Government to which recruitment is made through this Staff Selection Commission.
The Odisha Staff Selection Commission is managed by the Chairman, and besides, it comprises of a Member. They are designated by the Government and are supervised by Rules monitoring their recruitment and limitations of service. The Commission is liable to the General Administration Department of Government in administrative and economic matters. Secretary is the Head of Office, and helping him are the Joint Secretary / Under Secretary, Addl. Secretary, Accounts Officer, and the Special Officer. Chairman is vested with the administration to dispose of things about the report of the Commission’s charge, and its stable functioning.
