Punjab National Bank (PNB) was produced on 19th May 1894. The establishing committee was formed from different parts of Asia declaring many faiths and a different back-ground with, however, the basic purpose of giving the country a national bank that would promote the economic benefit of the nation.

The Punjab National Bank (PNB) presented for business on 12th Apr 1895. The 1st Board of seven Directors composed of Sardar Dayal Singh Majithia, He is also the author of the Tribune and Dayal Singh College; Kali Prasanna Roy, a famous Bengali pleader who was including the Director/Chairman of the Reception Committee of the Hindu National Congress at its Lahore assembly in the year of 1900; Lala Lalchand one of the authors of DAV Institue and President of its Society Management; Lala Harkishan Lal who grew widely recognized as the 1st owner of Punjab; Lala Prabhu Dayal, a chief Rais, merchant, and patron of Multan; EC Jessawala, a well recognized Parsi trader & partner of Jamshedji & Co. of Lahore; Bakshi Jaishi Ram, an important Civil Lawyer of Lahore; and Lala Dholan Dass, a prominent banker, trader and Rais of Amritsar. Thus a Parsi, Bengali, a Sikh, and some Hindus joined workers in purely social & cosmopolitan life to finding this Punjab National Bank(PNB) which opened its gates to the public on the 12th-Apr-1895.
